In this painting, I link the concept of deep time—a geologic timeline of Earth’s natural history—with contemporary concerns about climate change. Layers of marks and glazes result in unique patterns of biomorphic shapes, that suggest vestiges of fossil fragments. Inspired by ferns encountered in old growth forests....
